Asra Khalid at PFDC 2017

Pakistan Fashion Design Council 2017 marked the official launch of Asra Khalid as a brand.

Asra’s first collection, ‘From the Heart on the Wall’ was showcased, which featured five unique pieces in cotton and silk blends. The collection takes inspiration from the vandalized cultural heritage and  surrounding of Lahore city.

The  collection is textile oriented in contrast to straight and sleek silhouettes. Taking a closer look at the garments, there are faded and bleached out florals, graffiti found on the walls printed by screen and hand drawn details.

“From the heart on the Wall“is a very personalized collection with a sense of individuality, as the prints  are unique and designed using various techniques. The color palette is kept subtle and using grey tones which are blended with multicolored yet muted florals. The collection gives a grunge look with contrasting details and the rebellious nature of the garments.
